Week 6 Journal Reflection.

This last week we talked a lot about the sacrifices as an entrepreneur. One of the biggest benefits of becoming an entrepreneur is that you can make your own schedule. This is great but especially when you start out, you will likely be having to work more than normal in order to be successful. This being the case in one of the videos I watched this week it talked about making rules. If you are to start a business, it is important to make rules, such as eating with your family or not working on weekends. these rules will help you establish a healthy work-life balance. Either way, sacrifices will have to be made but if you establish rules they will be easier decisions to make.

Another important thing that I learned from the videos this week was that it is important to never be too busy to accept a church calling. That being said it is important to put God before your business and hobbies. By doing so you will be completing more important work. Just like I stated in the first paragraph if we set rules and boundaries for ourselves then we will not run into as many problems. Setting a rule to not let work get in the way of church and callings is a great way to start.

I also learned about how self-mastery is key in determining your success.  This can come through making goals and keeping them in our minds. It can also be determined by what direction we are headed in and the willpower we have. Self-control and self-discipline are also key factors in learning self-mastery. Although we cannot become perfect, there are things we can do to master our own skills and emotions.

The last thing I learned was about being prepared to jump into entrepreneurship. There are three main things that you can do: get an in-depth knowledge of the industry, develop the necessary skills, and learn how this idea will generate money.
